The Linn County Road Department plans to chip seal Old Salem Road on Thursday, August 7.
The project will run from the Albany city limits to the ODOT right-of-way at the Murder Creek underpass.
Linn County will resume the chip seal where the county’s right-of-way begins under the railroad trestle and continue the chip seal past Love’s Travel Stop.
A contractor will follow the Linn County crew, sweeping and fog sealing the chip seal on Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9.
“Traffic management will be to divide the road into three lanes,” explained Road Department Operations Manager Kevin Hamilton. “We’ll have a closed lane in which the work is occurring and two live lanes maintaining traffic flow in each direction. Section lengths will be managed for material distribution and traffic management.”
Catch basins will be bagged to prevent asphalt introduction to the basins and to prevent or minimize aggregate introduction.
Linn County has posted electronic signboards to notify the public about the upcoming work
