Linn County Veterans Services Office was established by the Linn County Board of Commissioners to assist veterans and their dependents who want to obtain benefits from Federal and State agencies.

We identify potential claims and entitlements; assist in completing necessary applications; and assist clients in obtaining supporting documents or materials.

Our goal is to ensure that veterans and their dependents receive maximum benefits to which they are entitled.

We are advocates for Linn County Veterans and their dependents.

We assist with VA disability compensation claims, pension claims for veterans and surviving spouses, medical benefit applications, home loan eligibility applications, burial benefits, vocational rehabilitation applications, survivor and dependent services, and more.

How Do I Get Sleep Apnea Service Connected?

Service Connection:

To receive VA disability benefits for sleep apnea, you must prove that your sleep apnea is either directly related to your military service, or is secondary to a service-connected disability.

Nexus Letter:

A nexus letter from a medical professional linking your sleep apnea to your military service is crucial for establishing service connection.

Is Sleep Apnea a Presumptive Condition?

Sleep apnea is not considered a presumptive condition by the Veterans Administration. This means veterans must provide evidence that their sleep apnea is directly connected to their service. Documents like service treatment records, medical nexus letters and buddy statements can help accomplish this.
