The Justice Court has concurrent jurisdiction with the Linn County Circuit Court of misdemeanor crimes and other offenses that occur within Linn County. “Other offenses” include traffic, boating, wildlife, all state-law offenses punishable by a fine only, and county ordinance offenses. The Linn County Justice Court also exercises jurisdiction over violations of city ordinances for the cities of Brownsville, Halsey, Lyons, Millersburg, Sodaville, Tangent and Waterloo.

The Justice Court civil jurisdiction includes landlord/tenant (FED) actions and small claims and civil actions for the recovery of money or personal property where the value claimed does not exceed $10,000.

Driving Directions

From I-5 take the OR-34 to Lebanon, Exit 228, turn onto OR-34 to Lebanon, travel 7.7 miles, turn left on W. Tangent St (N. 2nd St or OR-34) travel .06 miles, turn right onto W. Morton St travel .1 mile, take the first right onto S. Main St travel .6 miles, turn left onto E. Maple St, the court building will be on the right side on the street.
