GIS Department moves into the Courthouse Annex

    The Linn County GIS (Geographic Information System) Department, moved from the first floor of the Linn County Courthouse into the Courthouse Annex Monday, May 12, joining the Environmental Health Department.

     Among the many things GIS staff do is creating accurate maps, including those used to determine property lines.

     In July, the Planning and Building Department will move into the building as well, creating a one-stop service for people needing information about construction or applying for building permits.

     The Courthouse Annex is at 315 SW 4th Ave., north of the Linn County Courthouse.
