Whispering Falls Campground is located along State Highway 22, approximately 8.2 miles southeast of Detroit, Oregon, at an elevation of 2,000 feet. It is a 15-acre site, on the North Santiam River. The main travel surfaces within the campground are paved and gravel.

Park Location

From Detroit, Oregon follow Highway 22 southeast for 8.3 miles to Whispering Falls Campground on the right.

Whispering Falls Campground is an excellent outdoor retreat designed for campers more interested in a remote experience. Guests are greeted with grand, mature cedars and Douglas fir trees as they drive into the campground.

Whispering Falls Campground provides 16 sites (10 are reservable), 13 single and 2 double, that can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet in length.  All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings.  Water is provided via individual faucet risers located throughout the campground.  There is one single-vault toilet and one double-vault toilet located in accessible locations.  Trash receptacles are located in the campground.

This is a Scan and Pay campground. There are no refunds, modifications, cancellations, or other fee changes allowed with Scan and Pay payments. This system is the same as putting cash into a fee tube and cannot be refunded.

Reservations for this site can be made up to 6 months in advance of arrival date by reserving online at Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777.
