Linn County Parks Department is seeking enthusiastic people to live in a variety of our parks to help with customer service, general campground work, and park security. The Volunteer Host information is below. We also offer some Paid Host positions- please see the "Seasonal" heading under the Jobs tab on this website for more information.
Park hosts live in the parks as a condition of the position. They perform the following services for the Parks Department:
* Greet visitors, answer questions, receive comments
* Observe park conditions and visitor activities, and contact rangers or law enforcement as needed
* Park hosts are not responsible to enforce park rules
* Clean litter and debris, empty trash cans, and clean restrooms and other facilities
* Assist with landscaping maintenance, mowing, and pruning
* Assist with campground reservations
* Sell firewood
* Assist with special projects and other miscellaneous duties as needed
Volunteer Hosts volunteer approximately 20 hours per week. Hosts are able to experience a sense of satisfaction in being involved in community service and being part of a great team. Hosts also take pleasure in living in the forest-park system of Linn County.
Site amenities vary depending on location. Some sites have sewer, water and electrical hookups; some have only sewer, and some have no hookups at all.
