Goldfish Farm Road Improvement - North
Project Description:
Goldfish Farm Road is a narrow, paved road without sidewalks or bike lanes and steep roadside ditches along the west side. The vehicle traffic on this road, which connects a major shopping center with NE Albany, prevents safe passage of pedestrians and bicyclists. Currently, there are road improvements along the east side of the road. This project will provide a half-street improvement along the west side of the roadway. Funding has been obtained from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to replace the bridge on Goldfish Farm Road over Cox Creek in Summer of 2026 and partial funding has been obtained from ODOT and the Albany Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) to provide road improvements from Highway 20, north to connect into the bridge project.
The project starts approximately 200 feet north of the intersection of Goldfish Farm Road with Christopher Avenue and continues north for approximately 1,450 feet to Dogwood Avenue. The existing paved road will be widened to 60 feet to accommodate two 12 ft wide travel lanes, 12 ft wide center lane, two 5 ft wide bike lanes, curb, gutter, curbside vegetative landscape strips and shallow roadside swales for stormwater collection and treatment and six ft wide sidewalks.
During construction, the road will be closed and traffic will be detoured. Access to local traffic will be allowed for residents and businesses.
Estimated Project Cost: $3,750,000
County Facility Number: CR0328
