Goldfish Farm Road Improvement
Project Description:
Goldfish Farm Road is a narrow, paved road without sidewalks or bike lanes and steep roadside ditches. The vehicle traffic on this road which connects a major shopping center with NE Albany prevents safe passage of pedestrians and bicyclists. Funding has been obtained from the Oregon Department of Transportation to replace the bridge on Goldfish Farm Road over Cox Creek in Summer of 2025.
The project starts approximately 130 feet north of the intersection of Goldfish Farm Road with Highway 20 and continues north for 1,370 ft , approximately 285 feet south of the bridge crossing at Cox Creek. The existing narrow paved road will be widened to 60 feet for the first 745 feet to include two 12 ft wide travel lanes, 12 ft wide center lane, two 5 ft wide bike lanes, curb, gutter, landscape strip/shallow roadside swale, and six foot wide sidewalks on both sides of the road. The remaining 625 feet will taper to 48 feet with the removal of the center lane. Separated sidewalks will be installed to accommodate curbside vegetative landscape strips and shallow roadside swales for stormwater collection and treatment.
During construction, the road will be closed and traffic will be detoured. Access to local traffic will be allowed for residents and businesses.
